| RE: Fantastic Shaun Edwards Interview Hated his guts as a player, but he was bloody brilliant sometimes. You wonder what he could have achieved coaching in RL. | |||

I have to agree with you on that one mate. That is a brilliant article imo. Gives you a real feel for the person behind the RL player. The interviewer deserves some plaudits too. I don't mean to be negative but I'll bet there are umpteen other current RL players who would come across just as well, given the same sort of interview technique. I wish newspapers would try it more often.

The most rugby intelligent player we had, fantastically gifted and would have been even betterbut for injuries. So brains and skill added to tremendous heart and guts and you have it all. An added bonus was that Edwards was one of the most destructive defenders I have seen. Both he and Phil Clarke broke the defensive rule textbook and would come up and kill any move before it got dangerous. Coming out of the line and killing moved is incredibly difficult. Jackie would have been second only to Murphy but for injury.

Edwards was a truly wonderful gifted player, of the like we may not see again. Heaven wont have me, and Hell think i might take over!

| RE: Fantastic Shaun Edwards Interview Arguably Wigan's finest ever player. Outstanding player and was rock hard. Wish England had something similar now. Had far more natural rugby talent than say Offiah. | |||
