| RE: Easy victory for Wigan v Crusaders Joel was outstanding last night. Maguire seems to have brought his Melbourne plays with him. Most SL clubs tend to play the second man play time and time again. The Storm always mixed it up far more with the lead runner hitting a crash ball. So for example, Hoffman would hit the ball straight and hard. The opposition had to pay that lead runner due care and attention which when they chose to left more room for the second man play. SOme SL team are all second man plays now and it is too predictable. Wigan under Maguire mix it up far more. Joel looks bigger and stronger and when he decided to go for it on the outside he set up Roberts for the best try of the match. | |||

| RE: Easy victory for Wigan v Crusaders I agree, Joel has kept under the radar, whilst all the talk has been about his bro. But if i had to choose one of them for my team at the moment, then i would defo have Joel, he's not just a crash, bang, wallop merchant you can see he's got a rugby head on him. Heaven wont have me, and Hell think i might take over! | |||

| RE: Easy victory for Wigan v Crusaders Hi guys new to the forum. To continue where you had left on, Joel Tomkins was outstanding on Friday night, but we should be wary of the players he was up against (same goes for everyone). The Crusaders RL were a very poor side and had an awful set of forwards. Their play was poor offensively, apart from the odd spark from Michael Witt. Nevertheless you can only play what is in front of you I guess and you can still take positives out of the game. Joel looks a more mature player now than he did previously and looks to have added a more stable and controlled offload to his game. His setup for Amos Roberts was inch perfect. Another early positive for me is he seems more disciplined and less prone to silly errors and poor judgement, which he was guilty of last season. I hope this is eradicated from his game. I guess we will find out more over the course of the season. I believe he does have the ability to play for England RL. We will get a much better indication of where he is at (and the team for that matter) in the next two weeks when we play two very good sides in Hull KR and Warrington. | |||

| RE: Easy victory for Wigan v Crusaders Joel was outstanding when Wigan beat us last July in 'the Big One'. Best player on the park. | |||
